Dartmouth, MA — “SHOW TUNES IN THE AFTERNOON” hosted by ‘Lectric Lar’ on WUMD.ROCKS, will celebrate it’s fifteenth year anniversary on February 10, 2020.
The show first aired (WUMD FM) on February 14, 2005 at 3 P.M. and had been on the air every Monday from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. In June 2017, the station switched to a digital streaming only format, but Show Tunes in the Afternoon continued to be hosted every Monday. The program features music from Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway and London musical theatre as well as the occasional Broadway Show style movie.

Dartmouth, MA — “SHOW TUNES IN THE AFTERNOON”, the Monday afternoon live streaming program on WUMD.ROCKS, is hosting the tenth annual “world-wide” bingo game, “Show Tunes Bingo with ‘Lectric Lar’”, beginning December 23, 2019, and running until February 3, 2020.
Listeners fill their special Show Tunes Bingo card squares by listening to the weekly program, and noting on their Show Tunes Bingo card the date and time a particular song is heard. Once they have five squares in a row filled in any direction,they send in the card with their name, address and phone number. Verified winning cards will be eligible to win prizes during the “Big Bingo Day” program on February 10, 2020, the 15th anniversary of the show. Winners will be drawn from all verified submissions received by February 7, 2020. Prizes could include CDs, WUMD and Show Tunes in the Afternoon mugs and t-shirts, and other WUMD goodies. October 8, 2018 will mark the 700th episode of Show Tunes in the Afternoon, hosted by ‘Lectric Lar’ on WUMD.ROCKS, formerly FM 89.3 WUMD in North Dartmouth, MA.
It all started nearly 14 years ago with the opening show on February 14, 2005.
The show features music from Broadway, Off-Broadway, Almost-Broadway and London musical theatre. The classics and the seldom heard songs are presented every week, as well as the weekly featured Broadway Musical, and the Show Tune Tidbit.

That’s right! The 89.3 FM frequency has been sold. Starting at 12-noon on June 26, WUMD will be a digital only station, streaming it’s unique content at WUMD.Rocks.
